PADI Speciality Diving Courses

PADI Drysuit Speciality Course

The PADI Drysuit Speciality will allow you to enjoy diving year round in the UK and still stay toasty and warm! Perfect if you have qualified on holiday, but can't wait until your next trip to dive again.

The course includes a pool session and two open water dives. Courses normally run either at Wraysbury or Vobster Quay.

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy

Start your Peak Performance Buoyancy course in the right way with a pool session to start learning good buoyancy techniques that will be put into practice in the Open Water.

Complete two Open Water dives focussing on key skills such as hovering. We will help you to swim through hoops using your breathing to control your position in the water.

PADI Deep Diver Speciality

If you want to safely dive wrecks below 30m, or perhaps progress on to Technical Diving, start here with the PADI Deep Diver specialty.

We'll introduce you to diving with pony bottles and stage tanks, and help you to understand air consumption rates so that you can plan deep dives safely.

At the end of the course, you will be qualified to dive to 40m.

PADI Equipment Specialist

Invested in your own dive kit, but not really sure how it all works? This course will introduce you to the inner workings of your regulators, and provide you with the knowledge and skills to fix common kit problems yourself.

Bring your own dive kit on the day and we'll show you how to clean it thoroughly, and identify the common causes for problems.

As well as regulators and BCDs, we will also cover wetsuit and drysuit maintenance including fixing minor drysuit leaks.

PADI Wreck Diver Speciality

If you're fascinated by historical wrecks, or would love to explore inside a wreck, becoming a PADI Wreck Diver will help you learn the techniques needed for safe and responsible exploration and penetration of wrecks.

You will complete four open water dives on a wreck, and learn about mapping, and laying and following a line. We will help you to understand your responsibilities when diving on a wreck, and perfect buoyancy and finning techniques so that you don't kick up a silt storm!

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer

During the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty course, you learn to use the PADI SEA (Shoot, Examine and Adjust) method, which takes full advantage of digital technology. The result is good underwater photos faster than you may imagine.

You will also learn how to share your amazing photos with your friends via email or printing, optimizing your work with your computer, storage and more.

The course starts with a pool session, before putting it all into practice in the Open Water!

PADI Underwater Navigator

If you want to find your way around better underwater, the PADI Underwater Navigation course can help! You will build on the skills you learned in your Open Water course and learn to navigate squares and triangles, and how to use natural navigation to help you get back to where you started.

We'll introduce you to the PADI Nav-Finder and give you the tools and techniques you need to use your compass effectively, so that you can more easily find what you are looking for underwater!

PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider

Are you confident in setting up and administering oxygen in the event of an emergency? If not, the Emergency Oxygen Provider course will help you to ensure you are able to help a diver in trouble.

As well as practical skills, we will help you to understand more about DCI and its effects, and to recognise diving related illnesses that can be treated with oxygen.

You can take the course with your Rescue Diver course, making you the safe and well prepared buddy everybody would like to go diving with!

PADI Enriched Air Speciality

Enriched air contains more oxygen, and means that you can dive for longer with shorter surface intervals. If you're going on a diving holiday, this course will help you make the most of your underwater time! If you are planning to take your Deep Diver course, or even progress on to technical diving, this is an essential course.

Completing your Enriched Air Specialty will help you to learn special depth considerations for diving with enriched air, so that you can dive safely on Nitrox mixes.

This is a dry course, so you can complete it in one evening at the dive centre.

PADI Night Diver Speciality

Ever seen a fish asleep? When you complete your Night Diver specialty course, you'll see a whole other side of life beneath the waves ... the critters that don't come out during the day, and the plants that thrive under the cover of darkness and curl away from the beam of your torch.

Night diving brings a host of new considerations, such as equipment and signalling. Over three open water dives after sunset, you'll discover the thrill of night diving, as well as learning how to dive safely after dark.

PADI Project AWARE Speciality

The Project AWARE Foundation has made its mission to conserve underwater environments, through education, advocacy and action. Take part in a Project AWARE Specialty course to learn more about their philosophy, and how you can play a part in helping preserve the underwater environment.

Through this course, you will learn about aquatic ecosystems, and important current environmental issues. You don't need to be a diver to enjoy the Project AWARE course, as it is a dry course held at the dive centre.

PADI Coral Conservation Specialty

On the Coral Conservation Specialty, we will teach you more about the importance of coral reefs and the current issues facing them. You will be able to use a monitoring card to measure the health of coral reefs on your own dives.

This is a dry course that takes place at the Dive Centre. It is an ideal course to take alongside the Project AWARE Specialty. You do not need to be a qualified diver, but if you are, then it will also count towards your Master Scuba Diver rating.

PADI DPV Specialty

If you've ever felt like diving was too slow, why not have a go with a DPV (diver propulsion vehicle)? This is a great way to see a large expanse of ocean in a short time, and experience the thrill of zipping through the water.

The DPV specialty will enable you to dive safely and responsibly with a DPV, and avoid harming the fragile aquatic life around you. You will learn about the equipment considerations and how to operate an 'underwater scooter', as well as having a go for yourself during two open water dives on the course.

PADI Whale Shark Awareness Specialty

The whale shark population is in decline as they are targeted for their meat and fins. On the Whale Shark Awareness Specialty course, you can learn about the steps the Project AWARE Foundation is taking to protect these gentle giants of the sea.

You can put your new knowledge into practice on future diving holidays. Learn more about how to report whale shark sightings, and the important markings to look for.

All Specialties count towards the Master Scuba Diver rating. Some courses require the Advanced Open Water rating.
