Referral Course - 3rd May
Hello Collin
It’s very hard to believe, but I managed to get through it. Terry was absolutely fantastic and was such a kind and patient. He kept me going and encouraged me all the way through. I was so tired towards the end of module 4 and if it wasn’t for Terry I think I might just have given up. Having a private day was definitely the right way for me to do it – there was no pressure, which made all the difference. I was so excited after passing module 1 and clearing my mask I rang Simon. He’s thrilled…

Slough Course 6th and 13th April
Hi
Collin,
I wanted to say thank you to you and your team for all your help on
Sunday, it was a demanding day but I really enjoyed it. I'm sorry not
to have written earlier, however I have been forced to take some time
off as the pain I was experiencing was as a result of an ear infection.
Please can you pass on my thanks to your team they were brilliant -
Penny especially in giving up her time, I really appreciated it and was
so lucky that you were in the pool that day otherwise I would not have
been able to complete the course. Please can you also thank Kelly as on
the 1st Sunday I was struggling with the mask clear and she was very
patient and went through it with me a couple of times to be sure I had
it right. She will be a fab instructor!!

Hi Collin
Project Aware and Coral Conservation Specialty
Hi Colin
Firstly, let me thank you for a fantastic evening at the Project AWARE speciality. It was also an added bonus to do the coral conservation speciality in the same programme. I’ve been looking forward to it ever since I received the superb manual back in November 07. It was certainly worth the wait! I believe the course should be of interest to all divers, and would also be a great way to tempt non divers in to discovering the delights of the aquatic world. Who knows, perhaps they will try a dive because of tacking it. It was also good to receive additional information and handouts on the night. This really added to the course. The new coral presentation looks fantastic – it’s cleared up a lot of the comments we made last night and adds a great deal of info into the life cycle of coral. Once again, thanks for a great night. Regards.

Digital Photography Course 22nd Jan
We would just like to thank you for a great Digital Photography course. We both really enjoyed both the theory and practical side and can now take good photographs with confidence. What a difference from the “point & shoot” approach where the pictures were often too green or blue and lacked proper focus. The pool session was really good fun, it’s nice to practice on something that doesn’t move before being let loose with a camera for real on holiday shortly. We are looking forward to comparing our results in the near future. This is a course that we would both recommend to anyone who wants to get the best out of their underwater camera. There is always something new to learn!
Thank you once again for yet another great Divecrew course.

Assistant Instructor Course Dec 07
Collin just wanted to thank you for a challenging but very rewarding Assistant Instructor course, we all felt that we learnt so much, helping to make us better divers! Having started to learn how to dive with Divecrew on my open water five years ago, every certification since (Advanced, Rescue, Divemaster, Wreck, Equipment, Nitrox, etc) has been with yourselves, there's only one place where I want to continue my diving education. Divecrew has got it right; high standards, a great instruction and support team which creates a learning environment that is both challenging and fun. Dive on!!!

Navigation Speciality Vobster 1st and 2nd Dec
'A brilliant weekend of diving at Vobster on the Navigation Course - Jason ably assisted by Chris and Simon made sure that we had a very challenging, yet highly enjoyable time. The visibility was so good you could see the surface from the Jonquil at 17.5 metres. Learnt a lot, great diving and Jim and I nailed our courses when we each navigated a set course. Big thank you to Jason and the team for the way they ran the course - absolutely brilliant!

Bonaire 2007
What can I say? FABULOUS HOLIDAY!! But as we braced ourselves against temps of 3 degrees, snow and a power cut, not to mention emergency medical on call for the last 48h, I ask myself – was it all a dream??
Thank you both very much indeed for making our Bonaire dream come true and for being such buddies in every sense of the word. If by any chance any of this leaks out onto the Divecrew website surely surfers will think this has been solicited – no way! I challenge anybody to have a good time in Bonaire under your care and mentorship, or for that matter any other dive destination you may care to take us to.
With many happy memories and thanks again,
Kind regards

A very big thank you to all at Divecrew involved in making last night’s try-dive a great time; all Scouts thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I was most impressed with the guy’s instruction and won’t hesitate to use you again in the future – when I get round to it I’ll have a go myself.

The equipment Speciality was great - how didn't I know so much about my kit?

PADI Open Water Course 20th and 21st Oct
I would like to thanks yourself and Penny at the dive centre for your help but also on behalf of the team express our thanks for the guys at the weekend,Jason,Marni,Mark,Richard & Chris they are a credit to your dive school and for what the P in PADI stands for, it was not just my imagination but I felt more in touch with what I should be doing (please dont confuse that with being confident in everything i was doing) due totally to the Proffessional ,consistant and thoughtful way the team comunicated to us, we (in my opinion )as a dive school stood out as more organised than others around us.
I know it may seem gushy but I will and already have recommended you and your team to others.
Thanks again

PADI Wreck Course 13th and 14th Oct
From the first day of the Open water Course I have been told that the Rescue Diver course was the best speciality. Well it was tremendous but I am afraid it was eclipsed last weekend by the Wreck Speciality. James dropping out at the last minute because of the injury to his elbow didn't bode well for the weekend but once the course was underway I have to say I was like a school kid - so excited and challenged. The viz on the Countess was awful and when Martin and I reached the bottom of the shot line we both thought 'what wreck, where?' but slowly we became acclimatised. I have to say the weekend was made by Andrew Rampton ably assisted by Tim Flockhart. I was buddied with Andrew for most of the course and Dive 1 on the second day rates as probably the best dive I have undertaken in UK waters. After doing some work on deploying and swimming a line on the outside of the wreck we just swam slowly over and around the wreck looking at detail. It was really enjoyable and time just slowed, air consumption went down and hovering just inches over the deck was tremendous.
I learned so much, not just when we were on the wreck but on the dive boat and during briefings and de-briefings. Great company but penetrating the wreck was awesome, I had absolute confidence in Andrew's abilities and going into the hold in a silt out was unbelievable, but a deep breathe and then onwards. I had absolute confidence in Andrew's abilities and it was rewarded with what for me was a great achievement of swimming through nil viz and getting out safely and then doing it all again this time with me in the lead - great. While Martin did his penetration I went on a great swim around the wreck with Tim.
Well hovering with light and reel is another challenge I have passed - hovering and writing on a slate needs some work - I think it is the low quality pencils, or an underwater Blackberry might be good!
People knock specialities but I have to say I wouldn't want to penetrate a wreck without the experience of being taught by experts."
Richard
Hi Collin,
Really enjoyed the weekend course, both Andy and Tim were great to dive with - excellent knowledge and experience. Got a lot out of the course technically and personally.

Hi Collin
Just a short note to say Thank You for organising the Advanced Course this weekend in Portland. Despite the challenging conditions (like 1m viz!) Norman and I really enjoyed it and we feel we have improved a great deal in such a short time. Could you please pass on our thanks to Jen, Mark, Adrian, Duncan and of course Terry who all helped to make it a great weekend. Their tuition and advice was spot on as usual.
Many Thanks

Swanage Day trip 23rd Sept
I enjoyed the day as it was a good place to practice buoyancy control (being shallow doesn’t give much leeway for getting it wrong). Both my dive profiles are looking better already; only 3 little warnings blips of going up too quickly [140%] and my computer is set on the cautious side anyway! Also, I was nicely surprised at the amount of fish which were happy to let us be in their presence without darting off somewhere.
Thanks to Mark Leach for his guide duties and I was lucky enough to buddy him for the day.
Cheers … Jon
Wreck Course 22nd and 23rd Sept
Hi Collin,
I just thought I would let you know what a fantastic time Alan and I had on the Wreck Speciality Course this weekend in Portland. We thoroughly enjoyed every dive and found out first hand how exciting and fascinating wreck penetration is. Barry gets a big ten out of ten for his professionalism, infectious enthusiasm for wreck diving and for giving us all plenty of safe and sensible advice and techniques for diving wrecks. The Countess of Erne is a very good choice of dive site for the course. There are plenty of interesting features and a good selection of marine wildlife. We all saw the resident triggerfish over the course of the weekend and I even saw a small squid on dive 1.
Reg, the skipper on the dive boat, made us feel very welcome and helped to ensure that my first experience of boat diving was a very enjoyable experience. His friendly banter and hot chocolate after every dive made a welcome addition to the weekend. A big thank you to all involved, this is one of the best courses that we have been on so far.

Open Water 8th and 9th Sept
Hello Collin.
I am writing to you to thank you and your team for the fantastic open water course that I have just completed.
I found Divecrew using the search facility on the PADI website. I am always wary of contacting a company for the first time in this way, as there is no way of knowing what the people or quality of service is like. However, I can genuinely say that on this occasion I do not feel that I could have done any better.
Penny was very helpful with my enquiries and bookings, and your welcome meeting left me feeling very excited about the course. I couldn’t wait to get started!
Terry’s classroom lessons were both interesting and informative, giving me a sound knowledge of the theory side of diving.
Barry’s pool lessons then built on that knowledge, again in a very professional and enthusiastic way. Thanks too to Ian, Stefan and Jim for their help in the pool.
I will confess to feeling a few nerves when arriving at Horsea for the open water dives, however, Tim and Ginny’s enthusiasm soon left me feeling at ease. The dives were conducted in a very professional way, but were a lot of fun at the same time. Kelly was a great help, as was Adrian, who kindly took time out to do shore cover for us.
Last, but by no means least, I would like to say a huge thank you to Alan and Caz. They were there helping out throughout the course, from the classroom and pool sessions right through to the open water dives! Nothing was too much effort, and the course would not have been the same without them!
I would not hesitate to recommend Divecrew to anyone in the future.
Thanks again to everybody, and I have no doubt that I will be seeing you all again soon, both at the socials and in the water!
Kind regards

Project Aware Beach Clean Up 16th September 2007
Hi Collin,
Just a quick note to say thanks for the
Project Aware Specialty Course and the Beach Cleanup day on Chesil beach. We
both thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Both myself and Caz are very interested in
aquatic environmental issues and this course brought us a lot of knowledge and
skills.
Combining this course with the Beach Cleanup gave the course the additional edge of "Diving with a purpose" - that being to clean up the beach both above water and below it. From what we've learnt we will pass this message on to other divers to help support Project AWARE and to become AWARE divers themselves.
Please pass on our thanks
to Mia for the Specialty part of the course.
Best wishes

Thought I would let you know that I have now completed the Scuba Diving course and received my certification in Cyprus. Can you please "thank everyone" who helped with my training, can't remember all their names and although it was a little difficult for me, I think maybe a confidence thing, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I will most certainly mention you if I come across anyone wanting to learn how to Scuba dive. Kind regards and best wishes.

Dear Penny and Colin,
Just to let you know Ryan passed his Junior Open Water Dive Certificate out in Sharm El Sheikh a few weeks ago.
The Official PADI Card arrived today through the post and he is trilled to bits ( Some achievement at the age of 12)
So just to say a huge thanks to every one who guided him through at Slough pool/centre especially Colin and Terry.
I will send a photo to you next week and a copy of his pass certicate for your files and he would love to see himself on your webpage in the near future.
Thanks again for everything and we look forward to seeing you soon next year when Connor is 10.
Happy diving

Hi Penny and Collin,
I just wanted to say thank you for the quality of the Open Water course you and your team provided me with earlier in the year. I’ve just got back from Mauritius and only managed to squeeze 4 dives into 2 weeks of lounging on the beech, but the confidence your instructors instilled in me greatly helped when rolling off the side of the boat for the fist time in very very choppy seas.
Many thanks again, hope to see you at a social event soon.

Open water 1st and 2nd Sept
Dear Penny and Collin
I just thought I would write to say how impressed I am with Divecrew’s PADI Open Water course I attended this last weekend at Horsea. With two instructors and three Dive Masters assisting for a class size of five students I was genuinely pleased with the level of attention given. The equipment was first rate and the focus on practicing again and again kitting up correctly and being safe was excellent. Nina, who lead the class, was clear, helpful, polite and patient in equal measure (!), and Polly, Sam, Richard, Jim and Rowland were all marvelously helpful. The whole event was exhausting but exhilarating too and upon qualifying, ultimately rewarding.
Thank you very much again Best wishes.

I have always wanted to have a go at scuba diving and that's exactly what you have helped me achieve .I have learnt a lot, and would love to do some more. I have seen people go diving and I have always wanted to try. You have helped my dream come true
I had a lot of fun playing the games underwater. I would rate my dive try 10/10.
Open Water 18th and 19th August
Dear Colin and Penny,
On behalf of both Felicity and myself, I'd just like to say a big thank you to one and all who helped us complete our open water course this weekend at Horsea Island.
A special thank you to our instructor Terry who made the dive instructions as clear as can be, but also a big thank you to Mia, Martin, Kelly, Steve, Richard and special thank you to Jennie for buddying with Felicity on both days. Their dedication and professionalism is a credit to you, making this an informative yet fun weekend.
We both hope to see you all very soon in the water. David and Felicity
Just wanted to say a big thank you to all
involved in helping us to pass our Open Water dives on the 18th and 19th August.
It was a drab, cold, miserable two days for getting changed outside, but Terry
(Top man) and the TDM's pulled together to make it an enjoyable event at Horsea,
even if we couldn't see beyond a metre!! No doubt it will make diving in clearer
waters in future easier and more enjoyable. I would say its a great way to learn
as it pushes you further than perhaps crystal clear tropics does.....
Thanks again, I'll hopefully see you all again sometime soon, but that depends on the visibility!!
Cheers

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the weekend at Horsea.
Terry is a great instructor and whilst the course was challenging at times, it was highly enjoyable.

Hi Penny,
Thank you for a great time last Sunday on our PPB, we all really enjoyed it and talked about it all the way home (that is, until Emma and Nick both fell fast asleep for over an hour – must have been the early start!) Can’t wait to get back in the water! Best Rgds

Thanks very much for the weekend, I really enjoyed, especially the second day when things came together and went right. Good company, I very much appreciated your support and guidance and of course I had my 'buddy' at my side throughout the two days which helps. So once again thanks very much I really enjoyed the weekend, but not the sodding weather - I hope Paul has dried out he did a brilliant job for us over the two days. I thought Andy was great, I like his style and he cares, which I think is so important for anyone who instructs in any occupations. See you Tuesday - Christine has now agreed to dive in the UK with James and I.

Hi Collin
Sarah and I just wanted to pass on our thanks to you and all your team for the support and advice that you have offered us throughout the Open Water Course that we completed at Horsea this weekend. We have been genuinely impressed with the level of support and patience that your team has shown. We know that many of the people that have helped us in the classroom and at Horsea have given up their time for free and we have really appreciated that, especially when Sarah was finding things a bit difficult early on. Apart from yourself, the other people we wanted to thank from memory are as follows but please pass on our thanks to anyone else who we may have forgotten: Vicky, Mark, Malcolm, Chris, Jenny, Jason, Mark (who was at Horsea), Duncan, David, Penny and Dee. (There were a couple of other guys at Horsea whose names I’ve forgotten).
We have been really impressed with your team’s friendliness, approachability and professionalism. I would have no hesitation in recommending Divecrew to anyone I know who would be interested in learning to dive.
Cheers and the all the best

Hi Collin,
We wanted to thank everyone who helped us during the Farnborough pool lessons and Horsea Island open water dives as they made the whole course so enjoyable. A special big thanks to Jason who in our opinion is an excellent instructor. He is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of diving and we learnt so much extra from him that was not covered in the book and he also made sure that we understood everything clearly and kept us calm when carrying out underwater tasks that at the time felt very scary. In the classroom, pool and Horsea Island he was always very patient and encouraging and made us feel safe in the water at all times. We were originally booked in for a referral course and were going to do our open water dives somewhere abroad as we did not think that diving in British waters would be much fun. We changed our minds after having Jason as an instructor as he inspired us to dive here after sharing his experiences and we are very glad that he did as it was a great weekend and we are looking forward to many more dives in the UK
Other particular thanks to Jenny, Sam, Mark and Martin who helped us on our open water dives in Horsea. They are an excellent team who looked after us superbly and made us feel safe so that we could enjoy the dives.
We are now becoming hooked on diving and so are going to book onto the ppb course and then Lulworth Cove in May so hopefully see some of the guys there.
Best
Regards
