Friday night in Crowthorne seems to be really taking off - with 7 try dives and 2 tune ups taking place - thanks to the Friday team for all their efforts. Andy, Jennie, Mark and Chris.

I hope you have all missed me - sorry that the site has been not updated since the 17th March - but Easter through a spanner in the works and then I had to go on Holiday for a week. It has taken me this long to catch up and to get round to updating the site in full So you can bet lots has happened since the last update. Where to beginning 1) Price Crash on the F50 - now an incredible £269.95 inc housing and 1gb card - wow . Plus the offer of the month in April is a free under suit with all Dry Suit Sales, and we are still running the Breath Ease promotion from Aqualung - this coupled with a sale on various wetsuits - now is the time to treat yourself to a new set of kit as the season starts to get underway. 2) Beach Clean up date of the 14th September confirmed and a new location this year - Swanage Pier 3) Penny has been away in Aylesbury all week promoting Divecrew to the divers who could use Amersham - Thanks to her and Paul and Heather for all their efforts - doesn't the stand look great
4) The AI programme started last night - good luck to Kelly, Ian, Sam and Polly 5) Chattern Lake visit was to say the least interesting - 13 divers tried out the site for the first time - feedback was good - but the Viz was terrible - lets hope next time is better - joys of UK diving. Meanwhile Swanage Pier trip - also hit visibility issues. 6) First Rescue course of the Year is up and running - we still have spaces 7) Ashley and Stuart Barrett - took five students through their EFR paces - congratulations to them all 8) Rowland - put Chris, Ian and Scott through their Nitrox course last week - Chris has since been in and scored 100% on his exam - well done - we know how much he loves figures! 9) Thanks to Duncan and Dave for running the latest event in Cannon Health Club in Stoke Poges 10) The Social was a quiet affair - but thanks to all those who came this month - lets hope the weather improves and we can start sitting outside! 11) Andrew C - took another very successful Wellington College try dive event - we have since sold some places on our first intensive weekend course using Wellington College 12) 6th April - so the start of the Slough Course - Thanks to Ginny for looking after the 6 Referral Students 13) Holidays for 2009 are starting to attract attention - check out the Travel page for the very latest offers and ideas 14) The Try dive event at the Royal Berkshire Club on the 19th is selling fast - have 7 eager bubble makers signed up and raring to go. 15) We are pleased to be able to offer the new PADI O2 Course - contact Collin today to sign up for this great course.
16) Want to try something
different this month - then why not try out a Full Face Mask - we have two
and Andrew Rampton is waiting to show you the ins and outs
17) You know you want to
try one - why not hire our DPV's in the pool for something fun and new to
try

Whilst congratulations also goes to Bryony and Sarah for completing the challenge of the Dry Suit Speciality. We are looking forward to seeing them all on our UK day trips. Whilst the instructors where putting these 6 through their paces - 9 club divers set about discovering new items that have been placed in Vobster over the weekend - the high light being the Love Shack!!!!
Also congratulations to Kelly, Nicky, Jan and Paul for sailing through their Open Water in Horsea. Jan and Paul have already signed up for the now full Swanage Pier trip on the 30th March - as they are keen to put their skills of Dive to the test on their own.
Meanwhile the pools where heaving on Sunday - with 8 new open water student divers and various Tune ups and Try dives taking place. Thank
you to all the divers who came and supported their local dive shop on
Saturday instead of venturing to what we have heard was a very poor dive
show. Remember the dive show stands only want to sell you something and do
not care - we sell you an experience and do care about what you think and
need. We hope the 25% off voucher used by many was appreciated. Remember
if you sign up to the Free Text alert service - you just might get another
chance to get 25% off over the coming weeks.

Tuesday saw the quarterly Physics lecture - 5 eager TDM's took up the challenge of Lift bags, partial pressures and more. They will be back to complete the Physic exam in due course. Thursday saw a hive of activity at Harman's Water - with Tune Ups, PPB and Dry Suits all taking place. Most in anticipation of the weekend activities in Vobster. The weekend was extremely busy with 30 divers making the journey to Vobster. 7 Peak Performance Buoyancy Speciality being run by Mia, Mark, Stuart and Andy. Meanwhile Penny and Collin looked after 7 Dry Suit Specialities. Well done to Michelle, Graeme, Michael, Peter, Cara, Mark, Scott on passing the PPB. Tina, Steve, Ann Marie, Victoria, Rae, Hanna and Alex on passing the Dry Suit Specialty - the Viz was great - almost 6 metres at times so this helped. Also having fun was Ginny with three Pleasure divers. Thanks to support from Jennie, Dave E, Neil, Kelly and Alan. It was great to see so many Divecrew out in one place.
We had another gathering of the Scubapro Ever dry 4 club - with 4 new members - we do take a good picture!!!!
Meanwhile down in sunny Portland, Andrew R was running our PADI wreck course on the Countess of Erne. The harbour was mirror like but the Viz was not great. Divecrew is also pleased congratulate Ian Dennis on gaining a full Technical Pass in his GUE (Global Underwater Explorers) course. Well done !

So what has been happening this week- well another well supported Social Club. This month saw a raft of new faces - the complete Farnborough Course turned up and seemed to have a great time. Thanks to Mark and Jason for arranging this. Only one more before we break for the Xmas Party on the 15th December- planning is well in hand - the large amounts of Alcohol needed are being amassed as we speak. Wednesday saw the Farnborough Course reaching its conclusion with 6 students all trying out Dry Suits for the first time - most found them to be a Dry Suit - but poor Martin had more water in his suit than in the pool - a further fitting is needed we think. They will all put themselves (except Martin) through the PADI Open water Scuba dives on the 20th and 21st Oct - so Good luck to them all and Martin when he completes in November. In preparation for their PADI Dry Suit Speciality on the 14th Oct in Vobster Quay - Steve and Tina Sparks were put through their paces in their new Ever Dry 4 Scubapro Dry Suits by Collin - they really nailed the buoyancy being able to swim in 75cm of water and not break the surface - looking good for the open water section. Thursday saw us arrive in Harman's Water - with Mark, Stuart and Mia putting 4 Peak Performance Buoyancy students through their paces again in preparation for the 14th October. Well done to Mark, Scott, Cara and Michael who by the end were swimming around with out any weight belts. Late on Thursday - Divecrew where invited to Heathfield St Mary's School in Ascot to arrange a Try Dive Event and then full Scuba Lessons - Thank you to Nicola Edwards for the opportunity. Friday and Saturday saw the shop buzzing with customers checking out the Dive Show Sale and it is good to see people supporting their local dive centre even it is only to look at this stage. Thanks to all those who have visited this week. Congratulations to ENGLAND on reaching the Semi Finals of the Rugby World Cup - come on England. Sunday - Ginny completed the latest Slough course with 5 new Student divers ready to take to the Open Water - three are off to warm waters to complete - whilst Keiza and Bryony are looking forward to their Open water dives in November. Meanwhile Terry introduced 5 new divers to the world of Scuba. All had a great time and are thinking about the next stage.

With the nights closing in - Don't forget we have the Xmas Party to look forward to. Holidays in 2008 already launched.
